Inspiration of the Tabernacle

3,400 years ago, the people of God, were slaves for nearly 400 years at the hands of the Pharaoh of Egypt. While enduring the cruelty of oppression the people cried out to God for deliverance. But freedom from bondage was slow in coming.

The people grew weary and began to lose their culture, language and even their faith in God. Influenced by the religious customs of their masters many had exchanged the worship of God for false idols.

God raised up Moses to demand that Pharaoh let the people of God go free. With the ten plagues behind them the Israelites crossed the Red Sea and journeyed to the foot of Mount Sinai. But before they could enter the Promised Land the old patterns of life had to be dealt with in the dry places of the desert.		 High Priest Turban

While the people camped at the foot of Sinai, Moses climbed to its top. There he met God and received the 10 commandments and the plan to build a sanctuary or dwelling place where God could meet with His people.

Moses was instructed to make the Tabernacle and all of its furnishings according to the pattern that God would provide (Exodus 25:8). A place where heaven would touch earth! This place of worship would not be designed by man in his attempt to approach God. The tabernacle would be a place of Heaven Touching the Earth.
